Williams Here's what was happening in the community, the school, and the world when this class was setting off on their future endeavors. Watch for updates to this section! Local Events The City Park North was renamed to the Robert L. "Bob" Fuqua Park. Dr. Diane Murphy was hired to fill the newly created position of Secondary Curriculum-Instruction Supervisor. Ozarks water supply was under strain when six of the citys wells had to be shut down when oil was being pumped to homes south of U.S. 231. Michael Lamar "Mike" Cook was hired as principal of CHS. Consumers Digest named Ozark as one of the top 25 places to retire in America. A new fire station was opened on Deese Road. Hurricane Earl passed by Ozark but only brought much need rain to the city. The old Brackin Theater was torn down after the building was condemned by the city. Dale County Probate Judge Floyd Johnston, 51, died unexpectedly. The musical "Funny Girl" was presented at Flowers Center for the Performing Arts by the CHS musical theater. Jerry Mitchell Chevrolet moved their car dealership to a new location on U.S. 231. Frank Carroll was named to a newly created position of Dale County Manager. Christi Elaine Bixby was crowned Miss Ozark and Lillian Roberts was crowned Little Miss Ozark. Ozark City Council voted to name the Ozark Civic Center after Tom Goff. 175 seniors graduated from CHS. National Events A federal judge sentenced Terry Nichols
to life in prison for his role in the Oklahoma City bombing. Students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold shot and killed 12 classmates and one teacher before taking their own lives at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo. President Bill Clinton angrily denied reports of an affair with Monica Lewinsky, a former White House Intern, or that he got her to lie about it. Clinton told reporters, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." President Bill Clinton went on trial before the Senate. Clinton became the second president to be impeached and put on trial in the Senate. Clinton was acquitted of charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. Sonny Bono, the pop star/politician, died in a skiing accident in South Lake Tahoe, California. He was 62. Dr. David Satcher, was confirmed by the Senate to be Surgeon General. President Clinton signed a bill renaming the Washington Airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The Dow Jones industrial average briefly topped the 10,000 level, reaching a high of 10,001.78 before retreating. The entire 20-member European Commission resigned following publication of a critical report on sloppy management and cronyism. World Events NATO launched air strikes against Yugoslavia, marking the first time in its 50-year existence that it had ever attacked a sovereign country. Guest Book Entries

I especially wanna send love out to Dixie Roberts, Georgia Roberts, Jennifer fitzpatrick, Amy Murdock, Brandy Smith, Summer Brown, Summer Ward, Christy Ward, Christi Bixby, Heather Kengal, Kip Taft, Brandon Snell, Kody Walker, Holly Hilbolt, Sandy Krueger, Mindy Syples and the rest of the ones that hung out with me during break and before school in front of the building and you know who you are. I couldn't have made it through high school without your friendships guiding me along the way and for that I thank you. We need to stay in touch.
